Playoff Pool

Side Pools > Playoff Pool

The Pool includes all 14 teams involved in the playoffs. Players will enter their picks only once prior to the start of the Wild-Card Games which will then be carried over to the subsequent rounds. The confidence points (14 down to 1) are placed on each selected team (each number may only be used once). Players will also enter a total points value for the Super Bowl Game (OVER OR UNDER) to be used as a tiebreaker should it be needed.

Each playoff round will be given a multiplier weight which will be applied to the confidence points assigned to the winning team. For a given round the confidence points assigned the winning team will be multiplied by the round multiplier to give the points for that team for the round. A team will only receive points for rounds that are won.

The process is described below:

Submit your picks prior to the Wild-Card Games:

  • The idea is to rank each team that appears in the playoffs with confidence points from 14 to 1 (14 being the most confident team you think will go all the way and win the Super Bowl to 1 being the least confident team you think will go all the way and win the Super Bowl).
  • Enter the total points you think will be scored by both teams "OVER OR UNDER" in the Super Bowl Game - to be used as a tiebreaker if needed.
  • Scoring:
    • Winner Picked:
      • Confidence Points x Round Multiplier
    • Loser Picked:
      • No Points Awarded
  • The object is to have the HIGHEST point total overall!

    Example:

  • Round multipliers for each round are 3, 5, 7 & 9 respectively.
  • So say for the AFC Wild-Card game, you put 4 confidence points on LA Chargers and 2 confidence points on Baltimore.
  • Say LA Chargers win, you would get 4 x 3 = 12 points for LA Chargers and 0 points for Baltimore.
  • So say for the Divisional game, LA Chargers are playing Kansas City (and you put 10 confidence points on Kansas City).
  • If LA Chargers happen to upset Kansas City in the Divisional game, you will get 4 x 5 = 20 points for LA Chargers and 0 points for Kansas City.
  • While if there is no upset and Kansas City wins, you would get 10 x 5 = 50 points for Kansas City and 0 points for LA Chargers.
  • Once the Super Bowl game has been completed, all of your points have been added up and you hope for a top 3 finish.
  • Standings will be updated after each day's games have been completed in each round.
