RULES, GAMES & PRIZES for the PFLPro

WELCOME TO THE 2019 SEASON.

THIS MARKS OUR 22ND

SEASON OF THE PFLPro!

Welcome to the 22ND season of the Premier Football League Pro. Our goal is to reach 150 players (last season we had 126). I believe the competition this season will be the most competitive and the most fiercest ever and for those who can survive the season, they will be handsomely rewarded.

I have divided this page into 2 different categories: 1) Changes or Additions, 2) Games and Prizes.

Changes for the 2019 season:

  1. This season all points are due by the end of the second week September 9TH , 2019. The total cost for this season is 230.00 points. The cost for Rookies is 250 points for the first season (this includes participation in the perfekt week contest ((2,000 points to the winner)), after the initial season, the cost will be 230 points.

  2. Starting Week 1, picks must be submitted on Sunday by 12:00 pm., one second after the cutoff time the computer will not be able to accept any picks.

  3. The amount of prizes will climb to 83 this season.

  4. In the NFL, if a game(s) is canceled before Friday at midnight we will delete the game(s) from our piksheet entry form and we will play on, minus that game(s). It will be the players responsibility not to include the canceled game(s) for weekly and/or season lock and upset picks or any side games. We will do as much as possible to let all players know of this situation.

If the game(s) are canceled after Friday at midnight, the game(s) will remain on the piksheet entry form and all players will receive a win for the game(s), no matter which team they pick.

The college rules will be the same as above except the times will be different. Before Thursday at midnight game(s) will be removed from piksheet after Thursday at midnight game(s) players will receive a win.

*****There will be no ties for the PFLPro Championships. In case of a tie of 2 or more players for the top 10 spots at the end of the post season, the first tie breaker will be 1) Overall season winning percentage, if there is still a tie, the second tie breaker will be 2) Regular season winning percentage, if still tied 3) Most playoff wins, if still tied 4) Finally, the last tie-breakers will be the best score for week 17, 16, 15, etc.

    (3) Low Man Out: Each week the 7 players with the lowest weekly score will be eliminated from the contest, if there is a tie between 2 or more players, we will have, 2 tie breaker systems in place, the first tie breaker is total wins for the week (does not include lock and upset) and the second tie breaker is the Monday night tie breaker score. If two or more players are still tied after both tie-breakers, for the 7th and last spot, we will only eliminate 6 players for that week. After week 17, there will be 7 to 13 players still in the contest, the next week (week 18) we will eliminate players until we get down to 6 players (eliminating 1 to 7 players), week 19 we will have the final 4 players (eliminating 2 players), week 20 we will be down to 2 players, and in week 21, Super Bowl, we will be down to the final 2 players. 500 points will go to the winner, 250 points for second and 100 points for third place.

(1) Perfekt Week: If any player during the regular season (does not include playoffs) pick all the games correctly using the point spreads, that player will win the perfekt score jackpot. The jackpot for this season is worth 2,000 points. This contest will continue each week until we have a winner. If and when someone wins, we will start all again at 300 points.

(3) Survivor: All players are included in all the survivor contests throughout the season, the pay out for this game will be 300 points for each contest. In week #1 you will pick one team that you are absolutely, positively without a doubt cannot lose (on an average 50% of all players lose each week) If your pick for that week wins, you will advance to week #2, if you lose, you will be out until the next Survivor contest starts. The remaining players will continue week after week until we have a sole survivor, if 2 or more players lose in the last week, the jackpot will be shared equally. You will notice there is a box just below all the regular season games on the piksheet where you can pick your survivor and keep track of the teams that you have picked. This game is played against the point spread and you may pick any team as many times as you want throughout each contest.

(9) Locks, Upsets and Total Lock & Upsets: For the players who have the highest score in each of these categories at the end of the second week (week 19) of the playoffs will win 500 points for first place, 250 points for second and 100 points for third place. (The most locks, the most upsets and the combined locks and upsets). Each week besides picking the NFL games you will need to pick (1) Lock of the week and (1) Upset of the week. A lock can be any favorite team, underdog team or an over/under pick; you would mark this on the piksheet by giving this pick 2 points. An upset can only be an underdog (no other options) you would mark this game also with 2 points on the piksheet. If your best pick of the week is an underdog, you could make that your Upset of the week and you’re Lock of the week and you would mark that on the piksheet with 3 points (all other picks must be worth just 1 point). Each week there will be a total of 18 total points. The amount for second and third place will be decided after week 1.

(3) Monday Night Football: The players who correctly picks the most MNF games correct throughout the regular season will win 500 points for first place, 250 points for second and 100 points for third place. (Locks and Upsets do not apply).

(3) Thursday Night Football: The players who correctly picks the most TNF games correct throughout the regular season will win 500 points for first place, 250 points for second and 100 points for third place. (Locks and Upsets do not apply).

(1) Playoffs: The player who ends up with the most points during the playoffs only (weeks 18-21) will win 500 points.

(3) High 5: This game runs during the regular season only (17 weeks). Each week you will pick exactly 5 teams against the spread. For each correct pick you will receive 1 point for 1 win, 3 points for 2 wins, 5 points for 3 wins, 7 points for 4 wins and 10 points for all 5 wins. The player with the highest score at the end of the regular season will win 500 points for first place, 250 points for second and 100 points for third place.

(2) XFL: This game consist of teams of 5 players each, each player can pick and choose what team he/she wants to join, once the season starts there will be no trades or movements of any kind. The team that scores the most points for the Super Bowl including the over/under (each player uses their score from the weekly PFL) will win 1000 points, the second place team will win 500 points. The end of the regular season the top 12 teams will qualify for the playoffs (just like in the NFL). The team with the most wins at the end of the regular season will be the number 1 seed; the team with the second most wins will be the second seed, etc. The top 4 teams will receive a first round bye. (The XFL will use the same format as the NFL playoffs). Only the teams that make it to the Super Bowl (Week 21) will take home the points, the winner of the super bowl game. In case of a tie during the playoff’s the higher seed in each playoff game will receive ½ point (home field advantage). In case of a tie during the end of the regular season, (between the top 12 teams) the first tie breaker will be total wins, the second tie breaker will be the team that was higher ranked in week 16, if there is still a tie we will then go back to week 15, 14, etc.

(3) Margin Of Victory: (referred as MOV) Each week you are responsible for selecting one team, you will find this game where you make the selections on the weekly piksheet (our computer will keep tabs on the teams you have used to date). You can only choose a team once during the season (no duplicating, there is a heavy penalty for duplicate picks or missed picks) this is where the strategy takes place, you might not want to use all the high scoring offenses too soon in the season, as you might be left with very mediocre teams, the last few weeks of the regular season. There is no point spreads used for this game (the only game in the PFL that does not use a point spread). The way the game is played, if the team you picked wins, you will receive points based on how many points your team wins by that week. For example, if you picked Tampa Bay this week and they won by 10 points you would receive 10 points for that week (but then you cannot pick Tampa Bay again for the rest of the season) we keep a running score for the entire regular season. If you pick a team that loses that week, we would subtract the amount that they lost by from your total. The players who ends the regular season with the most points will win 500 points for first place, 250 points for second and 100 points for third place. .

(3) Regular Season Champion: The players with the highest score at the end of the regular season (week 17) will win 500 points for first place, 250 points for second and 100 points for third place.

  1. Super Bowl Block Pool: The is also known as 100 squares, Because the number of players exceed the number of squares, the following is how we will distribute out the squares. The first quarter the top 100 players will received a square, the second quarter any player who did not receive a square will receive a square first, the remaining squares will be given the number 1 players, then 2 etc. Each player is guaranteed at least 2 squares for the contest. The total points will be 600 points, 150 points each square.

  1. Sacko Award: This prize goes to the player who ends up in last place. To win this contest, a players must pick every game of every week. If a player misses a game, we will award the next player with the lowest score who has made every pick of the season. That player will win an entry into next season's football pool.
